Presentation

The new Professional Master’s Program comprises 60 European Credits and two specialization paths, namely, ‘Construction Technologies in Building Construction’ (in Spanish, TCE), and Technologies for Habitability in Building Construction’ (in Spanish THE). Those students who do not wish to pursue one of the above paths can opt for a general and wide-scope training. The Construction Technologies in Building specialization is aimed at educating and qualifying experts in the following areas of expertise: application of innovative techniques and technologies in building construction, in the development of projects, in the building envelope, partitions and finishes based on the improvement of sustainability standards in buildings, rehabilitation or maintenance, among others. The second specialization line, ‘Technologies for Habitability in Building Construction’, aims at delving into the design, modeling and analysis of advanced passive systems, as well as into areas such as building comfort and energy saving. The students who do not choose the specialization path will need to take 18 elective credits from subjects of both specialties. At the end of the Master studies, the students who have pursued a complete specialty path will obtain the Master’s Degree Title in “Technology Innovation in Building Construction” either in the specialty “Construction Technologies in Building Construction”, or in “Technologies for Habitability in Building Construction’.Generally speaking, the Master aims to provide students with a wide range of advanced learning and methological tools that will pave the way for doctoral training for those who wish to further their education. The Master comprises two semesters—30 + 30 European Credits. The first semester includes the core subjects, and the specialization is pursued in the second semester, as long as the student has signed in for this path on registering. Thus, the second semester is planned along two specialization lines, each with specific subjects and contents. The second semester offers 18 elective credits out of 30, which are specific to each specialization line. The remaining 12 credits represent core content all students are to take. Finally, 9 out these 12 credits are assigned to the Master Thesis, and the remaining 3 correspond to the subject ‘Marketing and Innovation Showcase.
